Stone Mountain

Executive Summary

Stone Mountain was OneRace’s inaugural event. Leading up to it, Josh was hired on staff and along with Hazen, they began organizing 17 pastor groups of 250 pastors in prayer. In addition they hosted a 40 Day fast and 15,000 in prayer.

OneRace Stone Mountain was an all day gathering of prayer, worship, and proclamation on Saturday, August 25, 2018. We gather 25,000 believers and 500 pastors from across races, diverse cultural backgrounds, and denominations.

We come together to renounce the historic divisions of racism, and petition God for racial reconciliation and revival in our nation. We believed the solution for a divided nation is a united church, and that our unity would reveal God’s glory!

Strategy

Our strategy is to gather ministry leaders into cross-cultural prayer groups, bring their churches together into regional nights of worship and prayer, and lastly call those churches to join us for OneRace Stone Mountain.

Why Stone Mountain?

In a place of historic division where the modern Ku Klux Klan was reborn in 1915, we will choose to gather in an opposite spirit of love and unity. In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. declared in his “I Have A Dream” speech, “Let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia.” On the week of the 55th anniversary of this speech, we will gather at Stone Mountain to embody that dream.
