In the summer of 2016, amidst racial violence and unrest, several pastors came together to seek God’s solution and to intercede on behalf of our nation: Billy & Maribeth Humphery, Garland & Eileen Hunt, Scott & Tami Free, Corey & Jade Lee, and Hazen & Hannah Stevens. It was in this gathering that the vision of OneRace was born. Shortly after, Josh & Lakisha Clemons were invited to support and help lead this initiative.

This core believed that the Church must step up and lead where it has historically lagged. The driving impression among these leaders was that God wanted a reconciliation movement to address the sin of historic racism & injustice, and to unite the Church. This unity and oneness would then prepare the way for massive revival across the southeast.

From the beginning...

Since the inception of OneRace, we have hosted 4 catalytic gatherings. OneRace Stone Mountain (2018) set the tone for all of the events to come. The Day of Remembrance (2019),  March On Atlanta (2020), Jesus & Justice (2021), and the Southern Justice Experience (2022) have all furthered the advancement of racial reconciliation in the city of Atlanta and beyond. We believe our 105 Prayer Gatherings, 1,000’s of hours invested in prayer, 3 Conferences: OneRace Leadership Summit(2018), OneRace OneDay(2018), and The 400 Conference(2019); and dozens of other equipping opportunities have paved the way for genuine healing and unity in the church. We’ve gathered 153,000+ people in live events, equipping and mobilizing believers for the work of reconciliation.

Our History

2016

The seed of OneRace was planted through the collaboration of several key leaders: Tami Free, Scott Free, Jack Alexander, Lee Jenkins, Johnson Bowie, Dennis Rouse, Hazen Stevens and Josh Clemons. Each of these leaders united around the vision and leadership of Bishop Garland Hunt and Billy Humphery, to whom we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude for answering the call toward reconciliation and revival.

2017

After a consensus on the “reconciliation and revival” mission from several key leaders, the first OneRace pastor groups were formed. Out of those pastor groups emerged the very first public OneRace prayer gathering hosted on August 25, 2017.

2018

After a season of gathering and praying with pastors and 30 regional prayer gatherings, OneRace hosted its inaugural catalytic event, OneRace Stone Mountain. This event gathered 25,000 believers and 500 pastors to renounce racism and to call for reconciliation in the Church.

2019

This year marked the 400th year since the introduction of slavery in the US Colonies. Through collaboration with Jack Alexander and the Reimagine Group, OneRace hosted the 400 Conference convening 1,000 leaders. The commemoration culminated in The Day of Remembrance, gathering 100,000 believers through Sunday morning services to lament the sin of historic racism.

2020

In a year marked by a global pandemic and racial violence, OneRace called the Church to greater spiritual formation and to advocate for justice on behalf of Black image bearers. OneRace gathered 13,000 believers for the March on Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park. This was the nation’s largest prayer and protest gathering.

2021

Our nation was reeling from various societal crises, many which were illuminated in 2020. During this time, we sought to prioritize the majesty of Jesus and his heart for justice. OneRace held the Jesus & Justice Gathering at Piedmont Park to encourage believers to remember and refocus on God’s character and sovereignty in the midst of crisis.

2022

On the heels of 2021, we recognized the need for pastors to be further equipped and encouraged to continue “loving mercy and seeking justice.” The Southern Justice Experience served to provide a safe space for prayer, deep conversations, and moments of reflection for those desiring a deeper understanding. All in all, this event marked the beginning of our efforts to curate intimate experiences for Pastors that will serve as a conduit for genuine healing.

Our Faith

Bible

We believe that the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God, without error in the original writing, and the supreme and final authority in doctrine and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)

Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:6-8; Philippians 2:6) God the Father is the sender of the Word. (John 16:28; John 1:14) The Son is the Word made flesh, and has existed with the Father from the beginning. (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14) The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son, and is eternal. (John 15:26)

Salvation

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Spirit are essential.
(Romans 5:14; Romans 3:10 & 23; 1 John 3:8; Ephesians 2:8)

Sanctification

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly Life. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, beginning at the time of salvation, and continuing until the return of Christ.
(Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Corinthians 1:30)

Imago Dei

The “Imago Dei” asserts that human beings are created in the image and likeness of God. All diversity, cultures, races, genders, and ethnic differences reflects the very image of God.
(Gen 1:26-27)

Reconciliation

We believe that through the Cross of Christ mankind is invited to be reconciled to God and to Each other. Through the work of the cross, Jesus destroyed the wall of hostility across ethnic groups, races, genders, and cultures. Thus, we are called to live as family, citizens of the God’s Kingdom, and a holy temple for God’s dwelling.
(Eph 2:11-22; Cor 5:18-19; Gal 3:28)

Our 4 Pillars

We believe that racism isn’t just a social and structural issue, but a spiritual one. We believe that through mobilizing followers of Jesus to intercede on behalf of their city, state, and nation we will see tremendous change, leading to massive revival. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.”
(Ephesians 6:12)
We are committed to building spaces where diverse relationships are possible. We believe that relationships are the bedrock of reconciliation work. Our effort is to provide space in the presence of God so that people can come and learn to love one another. We are committed to building bridges of trust that can stand up to the weight of truth. “Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!” (Psalm 133:1)
We are committed to equipping the body of Christ for the work of reconciliation. Through engaging leaders and believers in transformational model, know, own, & change, we intend to change the story for generations to come. “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;”
(2 Corinthians 5:18 )
We believe that the scriptures are clear in the call for followers of Jesus to love mercy and pursue justice. We are committed to changing the story through acts of mercy and the pursuit of justice in our respective communities. We commit this work through raising awareness and partnering with other gospel-centered organizations working to make wrong things right. “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”
(Micah 6:8)

Josh Clemons

Executive Director

Josh Clemons is privileged to serve as the Executive Director for OneRace Movement. He has built a reputation as a lover of God, builder of people, and a reconciler of cultures. Serving as both an author, professor and leading a racial reconciliation movement, Josh shares his brilliance, wisdom, and practical instruction impacting audiences in both religious and secular communities. Presently, Josh is pursuing his Ph.D. at Fuller Theological Seminary. He loves living in Atlanta with his wife Lakisha and two sons, Langston Grant and Duke Ellington.

Allison Rolax

Project Manager

Allison Rolax is a wife, mother of three, and an entrepreneur. She grew up outside Chicago but has called Georgia home for almost two decades. With her experience in operations and project management, she’s found herself in various settings—from corporate to non-profit. She currently serves as the Operations Coordinator for OneRace Movement. Allison and her husband share a heart for serving the community, especially through the street and prison ministry. She loves cheering her children on from the sidelines, eating tacos, and staying awake for an entire movie whenever possible.

Katie Wires

Director of Programming and Communications

Katie is an aspiring Peacemaker, who believes the gospel without justice is incomplete. She is privileged to serve as OneRace's Director of Programming and Communications, as well as preaching, teaching, and volunteering in her local church. Katie has a Master of Arts in Ministry, and her deep love for the global Church comes from over 20 years of ministry, leading and creating multi-generational programs. Katie has been married to her amazing husband, Steve, for 19 years and has three pretty great kids - Bella, Evelyn, and Henry. They live in Atlanta and have a dog and a bearded dragon.

Dan Crain

Director of Groups and Mobilization

Dan Crain is a farm boy from Bumpville, PA and currently lives in Historic South Atlanta in Atlanta, GA. He enjoys his amazing wife of sixteen years, four awesome children, and numerous activities including running Tough Mudder’s with crazy friends, lawn games, golf, basketball, tennis, and ping pong!

He joined the OneRace Movement team in January of 2020 as the Director of Groups and Mobilization and is deeply passionate about discipling the church through the OneRace transformational journey of knowing the story, owning the story, and changing the story. He has a Masters of Intercultural Ministries from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He’s also interested in the work of Christ in spiritual formation from Godly leaders that have been oppressed over the course of history.

Lee Jenkins

Co-Chairman

Lee Allen Jenkins is Founder and Senior Pastor of Eagles Nest Church in Roswell, Georgia. As a nationally recognized businessman, best-selling author, speaker and financial expert, the Lord has been preparing Lee for this pastoral assignment his entire life. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Lee accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age; but it wasn’t until he was a freshman at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville that he fully committed his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Lee has been in high demand as a teacher and preacher of God’s Word for many years. Small and mega churches alike have benefited immensely from his engaging, biblically sound, practical, and humorous style of presenting the Gospel.

Lastly, Lee – affectionately known as “Pastor Lee” – has been happily married to the love of his life, Martica, for over twenty-eight years. They have three grown children: a daughter, Kristin, and two sons, Martin and Ryan.

Johnson Bowie

Co-Chairman

Johnson is the Lead Pastor at Victory World Church, which is the largest multi-ethnic church in the nation. He and his wife Summer, have been married for 19 years, and they have two sons, Jeremiah and Isaac.

Tami Free

Treasurer

Tamesis Cruz-Ballauf aka "Tami Free" currently serves as a Pastor at Crossover Church ATL and Director of Operations for City Takers, an urban outreach non-profit organization based in Atlanta, GA. She holds a juris doctorate from Florida A&M University, and served as an Assistant State Attorney for the State of Florida. After marrying Scott Free, founder of City Takers, she has dedicated herself to the work of urban missions in the inner city, administering, speaking, leading, teaching, driving the mission of City Takers to 'raise up urban missionaries who transform cities through hip-hop, love and Jesus.' City Takers facilitates radical serving initiatives for the poor and marginalized and believes social justice efforts start by loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Hazen Stevens

Secretary

Hazen Stevens is a full-time missionary and an executive leader at IHOP-Atlanta, specializing training, including internships, IHOP’s school of ministry After college, Hazen began ministry work with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, where he developed his passion to engage with the lost. He transferred to IHOP-Atlanta in 2006 and has served in many areas of the ministry. Hazen currently leads the Training Pillar and Domestic Missions at IHOP-Atlanta this included internships, seminars, conferences, missions training and mobilization. He also travels to speak with other churches and communities on subjects such as evangelism, prophecy, healing and communication. Hazen joined OneRace Movement in 2017 as one of the Co-Operations Director and is now serving as one of the Co-Directors of the movement. Stevens currently lives in Lawrenceville, GA, with his wife Hannah and their four children, Amarin, Chesed, Pearl and Elisha. Hazen’s hobbies are eating good food and family adventures.

Lakisha Clemons

Lakisha is a talented communicator, anointed worship leader, and gifted market place executive. Lakisha Clemons resides in Atlanta, GA along with her husband Josh and sons Langston Grant (age 4) and Duke Ellington (age 2).  Lakisha is privileged to serve alongside her husband Josh, with OneRace Movement. Outside of her ministry gifts, Lakisha has excelled in her personal career providing HR and organizational effectiveness expertise for Delta Airlines, Hilton, and JP Morgan Chase. Presently, she serves has the Global Head of Workforce Transformation and Organizational Development for TransUnion.

Brie Davis

Board Member

Brie Davis is a distinguished organizational leader with competencies in speaking, retreat leadership, writing, and, most importantly being the beloved of God. Brie presently serves as the Chief of Staff at Transformation Church. Additionally, Brie is the founder of “b.still”, an organization committed to helping leaders tend to their inner life and soul care. She has been married to her dream Aaron Davis for 9 years and resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
